Lost Valley Fish Hatchery
Kids, 15 and under, fish FREE in a ½ acre stocked pond for channel catfish and hybrid sunfish. Children can participate in a variety of other activities during the course of the day and also receive a free gift with registration. Throughout the day, drawings are held for tackle boxes and fishing poles as well. Lunch is provided and the event is free to the public.
Operated by the Missouri Department of Conservation, Lost Valley Fish Hatchery is the largest state owned, warm-water hatchery in Missouri and one of the largest in the nation. Our 2,000 square foot visitor center with a 12,700 gallon aquarium is also open free to the public. The hatchery raises walleye, muskellunge, channel catfish, large mouth bass, striped and hybrid bass, bluegill and hybrid sunfish to stock in Missouri waters. Lost Valley Hatchery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm.
